Absolute Black granite provides the ideal base for high-resolution photo headstones. The deep, consistent black surface maximises contrast and produces the most vivid, clear photographic imagery.

Some cemeteries have restrictions on granite colour or type — particularly traditional churchyards or conservation areas. We check specific site regulations before recommending materials.

Gold lettering looks exceptional on most granite types, but particularly beautiful on Absolute Black, Baltic Brown, Swedish Mahogany, and Tan Brown. We can show design proofs of different combinations.

Yes. Granite hardness varies by origin and mineral composition. Scandinavian granites (Blue Pearl, Emerald Pearl) and Indian granites (Absolute Black, Galaxy Black) are among the hardest available. We only source from reputable quarries regardless of origin.
